First, I have to mention my lack of envy to all the Blogher participants. I'm sure you all rock and had a great time but...I've been a member for 2 years and I still have never spent the time to figure out the site. Sorry. It seems complicated. I'm not stupid, I just don't get it. Twittermoms, I get. Mom Central, Mom Select, Izea, Facebook, Twitter...I get all those too. I've never been able to figure out what I'm supposed to do at "Blogher" and so I just leave it alone. The Conference sounds great but since I don't participate in the site I don't feel worthy. Now. I did miss a TOTALLY RAD conference this weekend that I am very sad about. Over at Tribal Blogs they had a "Screw Blogher, We've Got Cheese in a Can (Tribal Blogs Virtual Convention)". I was too busy cleaning out my refrigerator on Saturday after having no power on Friday and missed the whole thing. I only have my looks-like-new fridge to console me.
Another blogger, who's name I won't mention but instead will call her Mrs. Bologna, had posted all last week about being an ambassador for a cruise line. I won't mention which one since they didn't invite me. She appeared to be having fun and even posted a "look how cute my kids are" pic with the boys in their floating suits, by the pool, on the big boat. Well, Mrs. Bologna, look at my cute kids... totally happy sitting on the couch... at home.
.
You've got nothing on us and just ignore any "envy" comments I may have posted on your facebook wall.
The girls and I are trying to pick a Virginia Wine Festival to attend in early October. A little mini get away. We're just having a problem deciding which one. Anyone have any suggestions? Hubster asked if it was just for "the girls". I said it was. He now says he might like to go to some wine/food tastings. He doesn't like wine or gourmet cooking so I should take it as a compliment that he just really wants to be with me. I just can't fathom spending the money for someone who won't totally enjoy it. Does that make me a bad wife?
Okay. I'm out.

No, not a bad wife, wine is meant to be enjoyed and complimented by food. I didn't know Virginia had wine festivals.
Happy RTT
Yes! Virginia has a ton in October which is why it's become so difficult to choose. I found a wine and garlic festival that is on the top of our list right now:)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't "get" the BlogHer site...and I just haven't made the time to care about figuring it out.
And so far I've really heard anything that made me regret not bothering about attending this year.
Amanda~
It's not just me? Good to know. I usually spend 15 minutes each year (on BlogHer) when people start talking about getting tickets. I look around, try to figure out what I'm supposed to do and then just leave. lol I guess I'm just not worthy:)
I'm not a BlogHer either. Your kids do look happy! Happy RTT!
Had I known that there was a web conference I would have partnered up with you. We could have been the ones with virtual wine glasses. Unfortunately, you had to clean your fridge and I had to bathe my cat. Good times! Heh?
I am hoping to go the wine fest in Ocean City MD in early october. Just me and the girls too! Happy RTT
I thought we had already firmly established that you're a bad wife. Lol... Don't know about Virgina, but you know Michigan has several up-and-coming wineries. You should *cough* consider a visit *cough*! Nice post.
No worries on BlogHer. I went last year and missed it this year and I STILL don't remember my password for the site. :-)
I did attend WorkHer10 and the 8 hour meeting was definitely interesting, if not catered... :-)
Oh. You suck. HAHAHAHA.
*sigh*
That was great. So yeah, you don't have to be a part of BlogHer to go to Blogher. It's just a huge party. I spent all of 15 minutes with BlogHer the website but I tore up the place last year. I'm going to Type A in Asheville in September because it's a two hour drive away and I don't have any cruises booked. :P
Hi!
There is a fantabulous festival in October (16 & 17) in Norfolk, Virginia. It is called the Town Point Virginia Wine Festival, is right on the water, really well run, and lots of fun.
Have a great time!!
The only problem with theNorfolk festival is IT'S NOT FAR ENOUGH AWAY:) We're trying to get away for a weekend and couldn't justify it going to Norfolk which is 20 minutes away (depending on tunnel traffic).
Adorable picture. I've been seeing people blog about boycotting Blogher and have no idea why. I belong, can't tell ya when I was last there. Didn't it, didn't spend lots of time trying to get it. Sorta forgot I belonged. Maybe I'll try again.
Tried Tribal; but was never able to sign. Password issues. Emailed back and forth with owner or someone who couldn't take care of it. So, I asked that they just delete me. No clue what that was about.
I've got 3 blogs, try to keep up with them, visiting, reading, commenting, dropping for one of them. Finally deleted the other 2 from EC. Spend time on FB, tweet but can't say I get it, belong to 3 or 4 knitting crocheting forums, and a few mailing lists, and well........I spend lots of time on the computer, plus I have a job, and do the knitting and stuff.
Haven't figured out how to fit more in. lol
Have fun at the water park.
Sandy
Thanks for the mention, the cheese in a can party was a stitch. Nannygoats logged in from Blogher so that made it kinda like we were all there.
Sandy, we've moved the site to a format that works, please try again.
The cruise sounds great, and I really need to be on one, right now.
Sorry, my comments, like my posts, are just off. I can't think of thing to say because my children keep talking to me and wanting my attention. Every. 30. Seconds.
Wine and garlic festival! Sounds lovely. I grew up in Hagerstown, MD which is right next to the Virgina border closest to Winchester.
