I'm not sure what's going on. I'm not the picture of fitness but am (until now) able to keep my weight at a stable number. I may fluctuate 2-3 pounds day to day, but it's always within the same range. Why in the hell has it jumped 5-7 pounds in the last week in a half? Why does it refuse to go back down? I swear every time I make a conscious effort to follow any weight loss diet, this happens. I get it in my head that I'm ready to shed a few pounds. I buy all the healthy food (mainly rabbit food, which I generally love) and then I either crave fast food, or despise salads, or both. It's completely mental. I need to pull the Wii Fit back out and start using it. I would like to start running...if anyone would like to join me. I need to stop focusing on the food and focus on the exercise part of it. I'm convinced that my body is rebelling and shutting down my metabolism. It's saying, "Ha, ha. This is what you get. It's been way too easy and it's time to pay your dues."
Message heard...loud and clear. Time to stop talking. It's time to start doing something to change the effects age is having on my once fit body.

I hear you girlfriend! Think it's the time of year. For some reason, my body thinks I need to gain a few pounds to get more insulation for cold weather.
I too, am having the same problem. It hurts too, knowing that you are doing what you should be doing (eating healthy and working out) and you see a gain on the scale. Know that there are other folks out here to support you in your journey!
Everything I've heard and read says you typically gain a little first. Muscle weighs more than flab, they say. I've also heard it's not a good idea to weigh yourself more than once a week or once every other week. Particularly women because of holding water etc.
I've heard the single most effective and most healthy way to diet is weight watchers. No clue how expensive it is to join; but I know they have an online version which might be easier time wise and more cost effective?
I think many of us put on a few when the weather turns and we're less active outside with yard work and mowing.
Don't want to join you in running, too hard on my arthritis; but I do like to walk. Trouble is, I just don't do it regularly enough. I spend lots of time on my legs and feet at work and so often am far too tired to walk walk. Then other days, I just find excuses. I need a good routine, but my work schedule or lack of said is anything but routine.
Good luck, try not to be too hard on yourself.
Maybe I'll go for a walk later.

Just remember it's not a race. Slow changes to your health and diet will make a big difference. Just walking for 30minutes to an hour a few days a week will start your metabolism going.
