Puddin Pop will be 3 tomorrow and I have found myself in search of the "perfect gift". There's nothing like the look of disbelief when a child opens a gift and exclaims "For me? Really? For me?" I encountered this reaction for the first time with my nephew was 3 and I bought him a new bike (he's now about to turn 18). It was the feeling one must feel when landing one of the coveted Wall St jobs, or whatever the top position is in their field.
Now, as a Mom, I always try to find that one special thing that they will hold on to, that will get a lot of use, if it teaches them something...BONUS. I want them to know that they are loved and treasured. Yes, I know it doesn't require gifts to send this message, but if I can pick just the right thing, they may be reminded even at those times when I neglect to show or tell them.

3 what a fun age. Good luck picking the perfect gift. At that age I always thought the box things came in was more of a toy, or maybe a little younger?

Have a good wk, still waiting for your visit; welcome mats out
I am in suspense... did you find the perfect gift?
You have to post a follow-up to this one. Hope you all enjoy the Birthday! :)
oooh happy Birthday to the little one! And I hope you find the perfect gift. I try to pay attention to what they beg for on tv commercials or when we go into the store.
